{"id":4454,"date":"2020-05-01T12:43:20","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T17:43:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patrickmclaurin.com\/wordpress\/?p=4454"},"modified":"2021-01-20T22:42:19","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T03:42:19","slug":"ackland-466-drone-reeds-in-old-sinclairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/patrickmclaurin.com\/wordpress\/?p=4454","title":{"rendered":"Overtone (Ackland) 466 drone reeds in old Sinclairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t been playing my Sinclair pipes at all recently because for a time they were converted to C drones for my gaita chanter as the Sinclair chanter stock was a perfect fit for the cork on the gaita chanter&#8217;s tenon.<\/p>\n<p>But, I&#8217;ve been curious what the <a href=\"https:\/\/overtonereeds.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Overtone (Ackland) drone reeds<\/a> would sound like in them so I set them up as highland pipes again with the original chanter and put in the Overtone (Ackland) 466 reeds. I have just a few short recordings as the bag wasn&#8217;t very airtight, but I think what I did get is representative.
